Centerville: check your northbound route
The city lists a northbound closure on Centerville Turnpike N between Elbow Road and Copper Way through October 5. Its September 10 update replaces the earlier dates.
What to do: Follow the signed detour via Butts Station Road, Kempsville Road and Volvo Parkway. Check the city notice before leaving.

Saturday at the Arboretum
Chesapeake Celebrates Trees is September 26, noon to 4 p.m., at 624 Oak Grove Road. Admission is free. The city lists tree demonstrations, a butterfly exhibit and trail tours.
