The Waterway Market at Great Bridge Village is listed for Sunday, October 4, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Battlefield Park South, 120 Reservation Road. The city describes local vendors, fresh produce, artisan goods, food trucks and prepared foods along the Intracoastal Waterway.

A free fall rock hunt at Northwest River Park

Fall Rock Frenzy runs October 1-15 at Northwest River Park, 1733 Indian Creek Road, with listed hours of 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The city says 20 fall-themed rocks are hidden around the park. Return a found rock to the Welcome Center for a prize; the activity is free.

Saturday: Chesapeake Recycles Day in Greenbrier

The city's next recycling event is Saturday, October 3, from 9 a.m. to noon at 1441 Crossways Boulevard, the Greenbrier Sentara college location. The city is partnering with GFL, SPSA and Shred-It for the collection.
